The Pastor Relations ministry provides support to the pastor and an open dialogue of ministry between the pastor and the congregation. The ministry serves in two primary ways; as an advisory group to the pastor and as a support for the pastor’s leadership. First as an advisory group, the ministry team shares ideas, dreams, hopes, expectations and concerns of the congregation with the pastor. Second, as support for the pastor, the ministry interpret roles, functions and needs of the pastor to the congregation. The ministry will not provide any supervision of the Pastor. Supervision, evaluation and contract negotiation rests solely with Session. The members of this ministry team are selected by the Nominating Committee and approved by the congregation on an annual basis.
For Pastor Relations Ministry’s special Lenten activity, we would like to welcome each of you into the fold and invite you to help us serve as an advisory group. We are going to encourage each and every one of you to have a quick but hopefully enlightening conversation with a fellow Westminster attendee or simply share a conversation with a member of the Pastor Relations Ministry team that is listed below. Our goal is to hear from as many of you as possible!
That conversation will focus on two areas. First a Glow- What is something about Westminster Presbyterian Church that you are proud of. Second, a Grow- What is a way in which WPC can elevate our current practices/mission? We will provide an easy format where you can write down your takeaway from your conversation and then place it anonymously, if you choose, in the Grow and Glow box that we will have conveniently placed.
We look forward to your help and appreciate you hearing and sharing ideas, dreams, hopes, expectations and ways that Westminster can continue to elevate our practices and mission. Thanks for being a valued contributor to the Pastor Relations Ministry.
Thank you,
The Pastor Relations Ministry Team
